Mentorship Through Golf

Developing leaders through competition, character, and meaningful opportunity.

Golf has always been more than a game.  It teaches lessons that don't always show up on a scorecard.  The discipline to practice when no one is watching.  The resilience to recover from a bad hole.  The accountability to own your decisions on the course.  At its best, golf becomes a vehicle for mentorship.  My approach to coaching includes these elements intentionally.  It's a commitment to development that extends beyond swing mechanics and tournament preparation -- because improvement isn't just technical, it's personal.

Watson Links Mentorship Initiative

Launching 2026 I Funded Pilot Program
Through a grant opportunity extended to high school coaches,  I proposed an initiative built on a simple belief:  gof is more than a game -- it is a bridge to leadership, perspective, and opportunity.

Watson Links selected and funded this proposal as a pilot mentorship program within our high school golf ecosystem.

This initiative launches this Spring and is built around two intentional pathways:

1. Leadership Rounds

Selected players will be paired wtih business and community leaders for structured nine-hole mentoring rounds.  These are not traditional lessons.  They are conversations centered on leadership, decision-making, resilience, career pathways, and life beyond high school athletics.  Golf provides the setting; mentorship provides the substance.

2.  Shared Impact Experiences

We are developing partnerships with a local youth mentorship organization to host clinics adn shared playing experiences connecting our players with young people who may not otherwise have access to the game.  These interactions are designed to cultivate empathy, broaden perspective, and reinforce leadership through service.

This program relects the broader mission of our work: we are not simply developing golfers -- we er developing capable, thoughtful youg adults prepared for life beyond competition.

Participation in the Leadership Rounds includes a brief vetting process, including a formal background check, to ensure a safe and professional mentorship environment.

If successful, this pilot is designed to expand in future years.

Business and Community leaders who believe in investing in the next generation are invited to express interest in serving as mentors.
